About Charlotte Behavioral Health Care:
CBHC is a local, private 501C(3) non profit agency providing behavioral health, recovery support, crisis and addiction services. We have been delivering these services for adults, adolescents and children in Charlotte County for since 1969. Originally providing services in a small house on Sullivan Street in Punta Gorda with a staff of 5, we are now located on a 40 acre campus in Punta Gorda, with over 200 employees. Our Family Safety & Prevention Services, is located at the Charlotte County Family Services Center in Port Charlotte.
More than 7,000 residents annually utilize the services and programs offered by Charlotte Behavioral Health Care. We offer individualized compassionate care and welcome persons with behavioral health issues, addictions and co-occurring disorders to a personal path of recovery through proven treatment models. - top
Co-Occurring Philosophy:
Charlotte Behavioral Health Care is dedicated to providing optimal care to all consumers requiring mental health and/or substance abuse treatment. It is our belief that the presence of co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders should be considered to be the expectation rather than the exception to the rule. As such, we strive to make all consumers feel welcome and comfortable to address co-occurring issues with their treatment team without fear of penalty or retribution. - top
Accreditation:
Charlotte Behavioral Health Care underwent its’ third accreditation review by nationally recognized and highly respected CARF - The Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. As a result of this inspection, CBHC’s programs and services achieved the highest level of accreditation that can be received. Our Mobile Crisis Program received an Exemplary Commendation for its work in providing education to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Charlotte Behavioral Health Care is fully licensed and audited by the State of Florida. - top
